Getting the campfire going at Basecamp— Cañon Tajo, Baja California, Mexico

Back in the 80s, we spent so much time at this camp that our rock furniture was named—
The bright red Ghowlue Mug is sitting on top of “table rock,” the flat rock on the left was the best recliner around the warmth of the fire. There was also an iconic chunk of granite called “penalty rock” which was tripped over by many a late-night partier as we enjoyed cold coronas around the fire!
Great Memories of wonderful trips with many Adventure 16 friends, some incredible catalog shoots, camp cooking feasts, and rock climbing adventures in the Sierra Juarez Mountains.
This camp was a familiar weekend home for myself and my great friend Eric Barrett, who is shown here, stoking the flames.
Were you lucky enough to make a trip to this incredible place?

A couple of cold Coronas by the Campfire

April 7, 2014 by marty Leave a Comment

I remember the day well, it changed the direction of my Product Photography.

Climbing in Baja California’s Sierra Juarez Mountains.

Returning to camp, we lit a fire for warmth & pulled a couple of cold Coronas out of the Ice Chest.

I sliced up a lime and went to look for the opener.

Any guesses as to what’s in the orange mug?
