The Iconic Red Routemaster Double-Decker Bus first appeared in 1968.
Seen here on Route 38- London’s most frequent, with a bus every minute during peak times.
Established in 1912, recognizable stops on the route include- Clapton Pond, Piccadilly Circus, Hyde Park & Victoria Station.
I once heard the best way to see London was from the upper deck.
Grab a window seat, get out your Camera & enjoy the view!
Caution: I can’t recommend the upstairs strategy during a “pub crawl”
…one can get awful dizzy while cornering on the upper deck after a couple warm pints.
A national symbol of the United Kingdom, double decker design came about to allow more passengers on a shorter body length for better maneuverability in London’s narrow streets.
Captured in September 1983 on Kodachrome 25, Nikon F3, Nikkor 80-200mm zoom
